What got me into music
Very early on in life I found a love for music, I was exposed to many different genres of music by my grandparents, parents and older siblings. It ranged from early 1960`s to current music.
My grandparents were avid fans of 1960`s music whilst my parents grew up in the late 1970s and 1980s. My dad enjoyed music by bands such as Pink Floyd and AC/DC whereas my mum's preference was for bands such as Duran Duran and Wham. My brothers listened to Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Gorillaz and Bass hunter and my sister was into popular music such as JLS, Sclub7 and Olly Murs. As a result of this, I developed a love and appreciation for all types of genres.

When I started to explore music for myself I found a love for different types of music and I could never stick to one genre as I have a passion for exploring the music industry and finding new genres to love
My Ambitions and Goals
My ambitions in life are simple, I want to manage artists that will perform at big music festivals like Glastonbury as well as constantly selling out venues for tours. I want the artists to develop their personalities and I want them to be themselves when they are in the public eye. I want to eventually own a record label that will be for all types of music and I want to closely work with my artists to ensure they are happy and they are producing the music that the want to, not conforming to the trends if they don’t want to.
SWOT Analysis
I have learnt a lot from my first year at college, some of the things that I struggled with at the beginning of the year have become part of my strength for the beginning of this year. I strive to continue turning my weaknesses into strengths and also continue to improve myself everyday.
For my strengths I have gone through my feedback given to me last year and highlighted things that were to a high standard. My planning skills are something that I am proud of because I put a lot of effort into it and the plans usually come out well as long as I stick to them. I am also proud of my research skills because I make sure to go into detail about the things that I am researching. I developed my independently working skills last year and also my teamwork skills, I was slightly let down with my work relationships as the work from other people was given to me late and some people just tried to sit back and make me do all of the work.
I highlighted my weaknesses from last year that I am going to focus on and these include my documentation skills and my self evaluation skills. I chose my documentation skills as one of the main areas that I want to focus on because I have a tendency to just do something and not actually include any documentation of it which isn't good because I need to make sure that each step is documented. I also want to focus on my self evaluation skills because I want to continue making improvements to my work every time I do something and make it to the highest standard possible.
I have come into this year with a lot of new opportunities because near the beginning of the year I turned 18 which means it will be easier to book venues and easier to do a wider variety of events, such as an over 18s night somewhere or something like that, this is a big opportunity because there is potential for more people to come to them as they won't have to be doing something with underage people. I have also been given the major opportunity of being a part of running a website which will give me a broadened view of things that I want to do and it will also give me a good thing to show on my CV or my portfolio.
This year we have quite a big threat to our works because of COVID and this means that we cannot put on big events that lots of people can come to because of the new laws that are being put in place to stop the spread, we have had the rule of 6 put in place, the curfew for the pubs/clubs/restaurants and a few others and this restricts what we can do with the projects on the course. However I believe that this also might be an opportunity because it can show potential employers that we are able to adapt to this kind of thing.
