My plan for the Culture Channel Website
The plans:
Culture Channel plan 1:
Going forward I need to plan the content for my blog posts on the group website and I need to include a lot of research that will be explained below:

Music through the ages:
For this group of posts I will be researching music from the 1960s - 2020 and I will be analysing the different styles of music from then ill now. Every week will be a block of 10 years, so I will be doing the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s and 2010-2020. I am incredibly excited to do these posts because I am someone who enjoys the older music which comes from having older siblings who are now 30, 25 and 24. With the songs that I choose for the music blog I will be looking into what was going on with the artist and giving a backstory of the song. I will also be looking into what was going on in the world during the time the song was released and how the song correlates with possible world issues during that time. While doing this blog I will also be creating a spotify playlist for whatever songs I choose to include and I will also be linking the artists other songs so that people can go back and listen to their other songs.

One reason for me wanting to do this is because it has some similarities to what I want to do in later life and I want to use this as a learning opportunity to take into what I want to do.

Final plan:
My page is music through the ages, I chose to do this because I find it fascinating learning about the songs and the artists behind the songs, I also wanted to do this as I enjoy re-living my childhood through music.

I have done pages as well as a podcast for each decade.
The demographic that I have aimed for is roughly all ages that could quite possibly use technology so that they could possibly relive or find out about songs they used to listen to or listen to now.

I planned to make a post/page about each decade from the 60s till 2020. Each page was to have 5 songs from the decade that the page was dedicated to, the information had to include:
The date that the song was recorded;
The date the song was released;
Where the song came in the charts;
What charts the song was on;
What certifications the song got;
Any awards that it has achieved (being inducted into a hall of fame);
Any background to the song might have;
Who recorded the song (band or artist);
I wanted this information about the songs as this was the basics for my page.
I also wanted to talk about the artists behind the songs, the information that had to be included was:
Who is the artist
Who are the band members (if any)
Have they disbanded, if so why
Were there any problems/reasons for them splitting
A background for the band/artist
I wanted this information because it gives the reader a nice overview of the band and gives them an opportunity to learn something that they didn't know before

Resources:
For this I didn't need too many resources that weren't online so with the pandemic going the way that it did, I found it easy to everything that I needed to do.
I needed to find websites for my research that I was doing so I used:
Wikipedia for my basic research to get a quick overview of the song and the artist;
Then for the more in-depth information I used Billboard, Smooth Radio and Spotify as there were snips of useful information that I felt should be included in the page.

I decided that the pages should be simple to use and it should also be simple to read because some of the 'music blog' websites that I looked at showed a simplistic look to it. The websites also had their own colour pallets tailored to their audiences but I decided that even though I could create my own colour pallet, I wanted to use the colours from the decade that I was doing at that point to make it more authentic for people and I also decided to link a YouTube video so that people could listen to the song if they didn't know it.

For the background I decided to put some artwork from the decade on the sides while also keeping the middle free for all of the information as I thought that having the art work as the main background would make it hard to read and too chaotic for the site viewer to be able to appreciate the information about the music, which is what they are there for.

Draft Plan - My original idea was to do a podcast about different subjects depending on what had happened during the weeks leading up to it and have guests join me to get their opinions on subjects/interview people. I have made an executive decision to change my idea for the culture channel to a blog because I do not feel comfortable doing a podcast and I prefer to write over talking. I want to complete this project to the best of my ability so this is why I'm going to do a blog.

The blog that I will be doing is about World issues, Music through the ages and a lifestyle type of blog. My plan is to post all 3 within the week so the lifestyle blog will be on a Monday, World issues will be on a Wednesday and music through the ages will be on a Friday as an uplifting end to the week. I have chosen these topics because they are all quite broad and I can do a lot of them and it also means that I can keep things interesting for the audience. By doing this I can reach quite a wide range of audience who will most likely range from about 14-30.
Music through the ages - The plan for this section will be to do a weekly blog about how music has developed through the years and different time periods. I will be doing from around 1920 to 2020. This is because it will be interesting to not only the public but to me as well to see how it has changed and I think that it will give me an ear to be able to spot something different in the future and to get someone with a different sound out there in the world. Each week I will need to cover 40 years to be able to cover the 100 years through the year and at the end of the year I will do one final post of the top 10 songs in the last 100 years.
World issues - For this section I will be researching current issues that don't have much publicity and making a news report for the blog to show my spin on it and to give extra publicity to some of the issues. I will have to do a lot of research to be able to pull this off but I am willing to put in the effort to make it as good as it can possibly be.
Lifestyle - While doing this section it will be aimed at a younger audience because it will be raising issues that younger people have to think and talk about, along with them having a person that they can relate to. This will hopefully make a platform where I can ask peoples opinions and answer peoples questions.
My year plan - Along with my other projects that will be running alongside this one I will still be making time to do this blog and I will stick as close to the schedule as possible for the rest of the year. Over the weekends I will be researching the World issues and I will also be doing the music through the ages, all of the posts will be finished the night before they are uploaded so that I know they can be posted as soon as possible on their set days. It might be difficult to do this but I will be trying my best to keep this complete to the best of my ability.

ORIGINAL IDEA - For my Culture Channel page on the group website I am planning to do a podcast that will run throughout the year for anyone to listen to. I hope to create an identity for the podcast with a logo and a name that stands out from all the other podcasts. I want to try and get some promotional material together and I want to create a podcast every week.

I hope that the podcast will bring up relevant issues to the current situation (COVID-19) and also other issues that me or the public find interesting and want to discuss
For getting the ideas on what to do every week I will be making some pols so that i can find out the publics opinion and at the end of the week I am going to choose the highest voted topic and research it to get prepared for the recording of the podcast. I will be recording 1-2 podcasts a week but in the beginning of the podcast I will only be posting 1 podcast a week until I know if it is a success or people enjoy it, at that point I can decide whether I would like to put 2 episodes of my podcast out. As I want the podcast to be good quality I will only ever put up to 3 podcasts out and one of them would be a bonus podcast because I don't want the episodes to be rushed or in poor quality.
Some topics that I would like to discuss whilst doing the podcast include religion, different cultures, mental health and maybe even talking about conspiracy theories. I have chosen a wide range of topics so that I can cover a lot of different topics and I also won’t have to stick to one certain topic which I believe I would get bored of and then I wouldn’t complete my work to the highest possible standard that I can achieve, it also means that listeners from everywhere can either listen to it all and gain a lot of knowledge or they can choose specific episodes that they want to hear.

This project will require me to work with everyone on my course along with people outside of it. I will be mainly working with people like Morgan and Faith because Morgan is doing the behind the scenes footage of what it takes to run a website and do our individual tasks, Faith and I have agreed to help each other with bits and pieces for each others projects. I am willing to work with anyone who needs me to help them and I will mostly be doing so when it comes to the website as I have been elected main editor for the site and I need to incorporate everyones ideas into the website.
Logo Ideas
These are my Logo designs:

This was my first logo idea which was for my Podcast idea. This was also my first attempt at doing anything in Photoshop and Illustrator so it was more of a fun thing to start off the year that I could play around with and edit whenever I wanted to. I got really good feedback from this and it was received well from my peers as it was cute and fun.
This was my idea for one of my blog sections which is about world news and what is going on in the world which is less reported and isn’t in main stream news I think that its quite eye catching and for a freehand drawing I think that it is very accurate. If you are familiar with driving and the signs on the road you will notice that the shape and outside colour is that of a stop sign which will automatically draw your eyes to it and it rest you in what it’s about.
This logo is the second one that I have drawn freehand on a graphics tablet and it is quite a quiet and mellow logo which is what I was going for because it is the most chilled out of the 3 subjects on my blog, I wanted it to be nice and relaxing without there being too much going on so that people don’t get overwhelmed.
I think that this is my favourite of my logos because the colours work really well together and they contrast each other quite nicely.
Resources that I need
For my project I need to use a lot of websites in order to do research about the different topics. I think that the most difficult subject to cover will be the World news section as this will require a lot of research and I am going to have to put a lot of time and effort into the reporting of it and the wording will have to be in a very professional format. I will be needing to use a lot of the news websites from all over the world to create a large coverage of news that isn’t really being reported within England and for this I will also be doing a lot of interviews with people to get their takes on what there is and seeing which ones they know about/which are being reported well.

For my music through the ages section I will be using a lot of websites again to find all of the songs from the 1920s to now and one of the websites that I will be using because it was recommended to me is archive.org which is basically a place on the internet where you can find anything that has been posted to the internet. This is going to make it a lot easier to research the older songs as you cant always find them on YouTube. I will also be using all of the music websites such as MTV to research the songs that have been released more recently.

For my lifestyle section i will be doing a few questionnaires to find out what people want to discuss and what I will be writing about. Some of the things that I will be using as research will be other magazines to see how they present it. I will also be interviewing people to find out other peoples opinions and find out how they would deal with situations which will be very interesting to see as different people deal with different situations in different ways.
How I will work with others
The way in which I will be working with others is by helping them with their projects and asking them to participate in questionnaires and also asking them for feedback on some of my drafts. I will also be doing some work with people from outside of college and asking them questions about different topics. I am wanting to get as much feedback as possible because i want to be able to get the best results possible and do this to the best of my ability. I have already been helping people with their work and giving them advice on what could be improved for them.
MET Connect - Brief task
The organisation that you will be submitting your work to is the MET Connect website, which is a newly founded website for the Artist and Evens management students at Northbrook MET in which they have full control and say in what goes on the website, you will need to have the following completed by the 12th of Feb.
Your objective is to get 3-4 pages that are fun and exciting to be out on the MET Connect website by the 12th of Feb. You will be looking to make your pages for everyone no matter their age but due to the general focus of your team being people between the ages of 14 and 25 you will also have to try and aim it towards that age group due to that being the most network traffic and the biggest demographic that will be accessing the website.
For the promotional campaign of your part of the website, you will need to make promotional material for the MET Connect Instagram and you will need to make it interesting for the followers to come and experience what is on your page.
