Weekly Diary - Week 1

This week was our first week back at college after the Lockdown that happened due to COVID-19. We found out that we had a project that would be our first unit but also a project that would be running through the whole week and it was to run a website with podcasts, videos, blogs and anything else that we wanted to include in it.

On the Wednesday we had our first meeting about the project where we shared our ideas for the website and what we wanted to do on it. This included who wants to do what while also eventually getting to the point where we had everyones ideas written down in our minutes for the meeting. I think that the meeting was very successful as it gave us an idea of what we can do and what we could work with others on.

On the Thursday we had an opportunity to learn how to use Adobe Premier which is a piece of software that you can edit videos on and it's a useful thing to learn as it can give you a lead on other people who are wanting to go for the same job as you. I had a few technical difficulties with it as the file wan't working and got corrupted but it is something that I am going to have to overcome. We also had an opportunity to write out our ideas and actually begin to write a solid plan for them. I started to write out the idea of doing a podcast and from there I began to think of what could be included in the podcast and what some of the topics could be.

On the Friday we began a recap of Photoshop which was very useful as I do not have access to any of the Adobe software at home. We recapped the different tools that are used and what they do to the photo. I think that this was incredibly useful as it gave us a way to start on the Logo for the website along with our personal logos for our parts of the project.

Overall it was a good start to the college year and set a good example for weeks to come within the college and within the project itself.
