The livestream
This page is all about the livestream that I organised with Brandon for the release of his EP which turned into a single release. It is one of the highlights and it was a real learning curve for me.

The Livestream
After some lengthy planning meetings at the beginning of the project Brandon and I came to the conclusion that we should organise a release stream for his first EP, usually we would think about a gig and release party but with the current COVID circumstances we couldn’t even put that on the table. We thought that if we couldn’t do that then we should do a livestream for his release because it was the next best thing.
Originally Brandon and I decided that he would do it in his bedroom and that he would do it on Facebook as it’s what he is used to but I didn’t want to settle for that because I really wanted to push him to get better and I wanted him to be more professional than that. This meant we had to decide on a new venue which was a difficult decision to make, we had thought about doing it on the college campus in the DJ booth but for the music that he was going to be playing we wanted it to be later in the evening which was past the time of college being open so we decided to look around and see if there were any studios around.
While doing my research I found Pirate studios which is local to us and is located in Hove which is a 20 minute drive from where we are. While looking at their website I found that they had DJ studios that would be perfect so I ran the idea by Brandon and he agreed it was a better fit for the stream.
The day was a bit haphazard and this is how it went:
I booked the DJ room 3 for two hours on Saturday the 22nd of May for the livestream and we all arrived at the studio for 5 minutes before it was our time to have the room. When we got into the room we let Brandon set up for his livestream so that it would all run smoothly, however not everything went as planned. The first problem that we had was trying to get the stream to record through an app that was connected to the decks which we couldn’t quite figure out but eventually we got it working and the stream then started around 7 and from there it was smooth sailing.
Unfortunately there was some technical difficulties and we didn’t find out until after the stream that there was no audio from one of the decks feeding to the phone, in order to rectify this we are going to be looking into doing another stream but this time how Brandon normally does it, in the future we are going to try again but you can read more about how we are going to solve this problem on my problem solving page here

Here is the link for the second livestream that Brandon did. He did this because he wanted something to show for the event. Click here to see the stream.
Here are a few videos from the night :)
